About

Knitting is a source of curiosity, and a form of engineering.

There are two basic stitches in knitting:  the knit-stitch, and the purl-stitch.  To knit, all that is a needed is a form of thread, and two sticks.  (In fact, some forms of knitting don’t even require sticks, fingers or arms will do just as well.)  Little is more simple, or more portable.

If you have ever looked with wonder at knitted creations and marvelled at the complexity of items that can be created from two ways of pulling a loop through a loop, then you and I have something in common.
